Many people have been wondering on how to make a map, and what tools you use for it so I made this thread to explain some stuff..
1. Selecting a minigame.
You can make maps for all the games except HG.
2. What a map must have for each minigame, and what each gamemode is.
Nebula: Nebula is currently using 3 gamemodes, CTM, CTF and TDM.
For CTM: CTM is capture the monument, that means that one team has to break the other team's monuments to win. A CTM map must be big, not tiny. If small then it should have some places that will make it harder for the other team to reach the monument. They must have 2 bases for 2 teams and 1 or more monuments on each team's side.
For CTF: CTF is capture the flag, and there's not been a lot of time that it's added to Nebula. The point of CTF is: There are 2 teams, 1 player from a team has to reach the other team's side and grab the flag(s). Then he must get to his base and place the flag(s) in a certain point. A CTF map must be a big map with 2 bases for 2 teams, and 1 flag or more.
For TDM: TDM (Team Death Match) is a very common gamemode, wich is also being used in Nexus. The team with the most points (kills) wins. Doesnt have to be a really big map, but not small either. It can either have 2 teams or 4 teams. Most common colors are Red, Blue, Purple, Cyan , Lime etc.
Nexus: Nexus is using 1 single gamemode called TDM and the map must be big, and since you can't break / place blocks it must connect. No spaces. Any other info for Nexus since it's TDM can be read Nebula 's TDM part for the topic.
The Walls: The Walls is a minigame with 4 teams, wich have 10 minutes to collect resources till the walls around them drop. Then they have to fight. Last team standing wins!
The Walls gamemode is very simple, so it's easy to make maps for it. All you have to do is
download
this template made by DiamondIcicles and fill in the 4 corners with buildings, trees , caves, chests and lots of stuff.. Make sure its the same so it looks more professional.
Sky Wars: Sky Wars is a gamemode made by JJTCool (Youtube JJTCool). There are 3 teams in seperate islands in the sky. They must collect resources and get in the middle island for the fight. The last team standing wins! All the Sky Wars maps are made by JJTCool , although if you guys make maps and people like it, you never know it can may be accepted.
Ghost Squadron: Ghost Squadron is the newest gamemode in MC Zone, made by
Sethbling. In this game, everyone is invisible. People can see their teammates names and their bodies semi - invisible. Last team standing wins.
Ghost Squadron maps are very easy to make and they don't take much time. They have to be small since everyone is invisible..
Survival Games: Survival Games is a minigame similar to HG but you can't break any blocks. There are many players in a circle. The game's starting and there are some chests in the middle with random items. There are also seperate chests on the SG map, filled with random items. Last man standing wins!
SG maps are very simple, you just make a big world with buildings, trees, chests with random stuff, and lots of things. Dont forget the middle with the chests!
NOTE: Maps must be in a blank world. To download a template click

3. What tools do I use??
The most common tool that is being used to make maps is World Edit.
World Edit for Single Player: World Edit for single player comes with the SPC (Single Player Commands) mod. To see the official MinecraftForum post for SPC, and learn using it click
here
World Edit for Multiplayer (Craftbukkit): There's a multiplayer version of World Edit, wich in my opinion has less bugs than the SPC version. It's used the same way with World Edit for Single Player.
